Privacy Policy

Prefolio is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who processes it on our behalf. It applies to the Prefolio mobile app (iOS and Android) and the Prefolio website.

Data we collect

Information you provide directly: your email address, display name, goals and application timeline, the activities you log, and the reflections you write. If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token. We also collect basic usage data to improve the product.

How we use your data

Your activity and reflection data is used solely to provide Prefolio's features: your activity log, your story report, and AI-generated application materials. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

Service providers

We use a small number of processors to run Prefolio, and we share with them only what each one needs:

• Supabase - hosts our database and authentication. All of your account data lives here, protected by row-level security.
• Anthropic (Claude) - when you tap Analyze or Generate in the Apply tab, the relevant reflection notes, ratings, activity names, and goals are sent to Anthropic's API to generate your output. Anthropic does not train on this data. Nothing is sent until you tap one of those buttons.
• Resend - sends our weekly reminder emails to your email address, if you have email nudges turned on.
• Expo - delivers push notifications to your device, if you have push nudges turned on.

Notifications and email

Reminder emails and push notifications are optional and can be turned off at any time in Settings > Reminders.

Data export and deletion

You can export a copy of your data from Settings > Export data. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings > Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes your profile, activities, and reflections.
